Congratulations to all who competed in the 2026 Chevron Houston Marathon! A large contingent of local runners made the trip to Texas, taking advantage of ideal race-day temperatures and the famously flat, fast course. What a respite it was from the frigid temperatures and snow that we saw in upstate New York this winter!
Several area runners delivered outstanding performances, with multiple personal bests and a top masters finish:
● Thomas O’Grady, 40, of Slingerlands — 2:30:20 (57th overall, 2nd Masters finisher, masters personal best)
● Pete Rowell, 37, of Albany — 2:33:41 (73rd overall, personal best)
● Josh Merlis, 44, of Menands — 2:40:02 (133rd overall, personal best)
● Robert Ordish, 40, of Schenectady — 2:40:24 (138th overall, personal best)
● Caleb Mallery, 25, of Albany — 2:40:49 (143rd overall, personal best)
Well done to all who toed the line in Houston!
