The 2023-2024 Ed Thomas Winter Series Survivors

Every December, the HMRRC kicks off its annual Winter Series Races which entails free entry for all club members. The Winter Series comprises five separate race events, with each individual event featuring a minimum of one short race and one longer race. The shorter race is typically around a 5k in distance, while the longer race varies from 15k all the way up to 20 miles by the end of the series. Winter Series Race #2 (i.e. The Hangover Half Marathon) and Winter Series Race #5 (i.e. The 10-Miler) also serves as HMRRC Grand Prix Events. After each of the events, runners gather for refreshments and awards.

The Winter Series Races present a fantastic opportunity for runners to engage in the camaraderie of group running on paved roads during the unpredictable winter months. The club recognizes individuals as "Winter Series Survivors" if they have participated in all five events. To qualify as a Winter Series Survivor, participants can either run and appear in the results or register as a volunteer at each race.  To earn the Winter Series Survivor designation every participant must volunteer at least once.

This year, we are proud to announce that a total of 49 people successfully completed all five of the Ed Thomas Winter Series events! A comprehensive list acknowledging all 49 Winter Series Survivors is below ordered alphabetically by last name.
