The HMRRC Anniversary Run will be held on the SUNY/Albany campus this year on Sunday, September 26, starting at 9:00 AM. This year the run is special, as 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of the race. All participants will receive a pint glass with “Golden Anniversary 1971-2021” imprinted in gold. First place overall male and females of each race (2.95 or 5.90 miles) will receive a copy of former president Tom Burger’s new book, A Runner’s Memories, Dreams, Reflections, a compilation of Pace Setter columns and musings, as well as the traditional fresh-baked apple pies.
Second and third place overall male and female finishers will also receive apple pies, while male and female age-group winners will receive coupons for a loaf of Bountiful Bread. And anyone 40 years of age or older with an age-graded score of 80% or higher will receive one of Tom’s books. The book will also be available for sale for $20 in the lobby.
Cookies and fresh apple cider will be served after the race.
The race is free for HMRRC members and $10 for non-members. If you are not a member, consider joining HMRRC for $12 as an individual or $15 as a family and enjoy all the benefits of membership in the Capital Region’s oldest running club!
Online registration is now open (https://www.hmrrc.com/races/2021/anniversary-run-295-590-miles), and there will be day-of registration in the lobby of the Physical Education building.
