HMRRC 40th Running: Bill Robinson 10K

by Jim Tierney

On Saturday, April 25, 2020, HMRRC will hold the 40th running of the Bill Robinson Masters 10K. The run will start at 9 am at Guilderland High School. It is an out and back course over a challenging but beautiful 6.2 miles.

In 2003, this race was renamed to honor and always remember Bill Robinson. Bill was heard to say that the Masters Race was one of his favorites. He won it twice, in 1984 and again in 1987. Bill’s tragic accident still remains in the memory of many.

1-40AnniFINAL.jpgBecause this is the 40th running, the plan is to make it a bit special with a cake from a well-known local bakery, a picture board and a special t-shirt.

Over the years, this event has been supported by a group of dedicated volunteers, who I cannot thank enough for their valuable kindness and assistance. They are:

Marcia and Tom Adams, Katherine Ambrosio, Mary Bailey, Christine and Charles Bishop, Jackie Bown, Frank Broderick, Tom Bulger, Susan and Mike Caccuitto, Maureen Cox, Karen Dott, Rich Eckhardt, Pat Glover, Tina Hayden, Bob Knouse, Charlie Matlock, Bill Meehan, Ray Newkirk, Ed Neiles, Joan and Lowell Montgomery, Sue and Scott Patterson, John Parisella, Ernie Paquin, Joe Premo, Jon Rocco, Tom Ryan, Jim Russo, Cathy Sliwinski and Barbara Terry.

So if you are 40 or older, we hope to see you on April 25, 2020.

Jim Tierney, Race Director
