3 New Events for Great Causes

The Pace Setter received info on three new races supporting awesome causes that deserve your attention.

1. Inaugural Apple Blossom Run 5k (and kids fun run) MAY 18

The race is going to be the first of its kind in the area – the off-road course will wind its way through an apple orchard, which is expected to be in full bloom by race day!

The sponsor is the Saratoga PLAN, a non-profit land trust in Saratoga Springs working to conserve clean water, fresh air, healthy food, recreation spaces, wildlife habitats and natural areas. The proceeds from this race will go towards ongoing conservation efforts in Saratoga County. So racers won’t just be doing themselves a favor day-of by getting their heart rate up, but will also be contributing to their future health and the health of generations to come.

2. Runnin’ for Roots-May 24, Friday, 6-9 pm Fleet Feet Albany

Video of Fire

On Friday, May 24th from 6-9PM Fleet Feet Albany will be hosting a "mile night charity run" called "Runnin' for 'Roots" outside of their store to help raise money for Common Roots Brewing Company which suffered a disastrous fire in March of this year. Participants will pay $1/mile to run/walk our 1-mile loop course located in front of Fleet Feet Albany and that money will go directly to Common Roots Brewing Company to help rebuild their facilities.

We will have food and beverages for all that participate and Common Roots will be selling their "Rising from Ashes" merchandise to raise money to rebuild their facilities. We are hoping for a huge turnout and to be able to help to Common Roots who has partnered with Fleet Feet in the past.
