Martin Van Buren National Historic Site, with the assistance of the Kinderhook Runners Club, is sponsoring a 4 mile scenic trail run on Saturday September 17th at 9 a.m. The run will begin and end at Lindenwald in Kinderhook. This run is free to all participants! BUT you must pre-register. There is no race day registration and registration is limited to 250, so register now so you don't forget! The first 100 runners, checking in on race day, will receive a complimentary T-shirt. Check in begins at 8 a.m. so come early to ensure you get a shirt.

The course is approximately 4 miles. It starts in front of Lindenwald, the homestead of our 8th president, Martin Van Buren. It loops down Old Post Road, across a stream, through Roxbury Farm, a community supported biodynamic farm, to and around the Columbia County Historic Society's Van Alen House, back along the same route where it turns off to cross another stream. The trail then returns to the Lindenwald, where it loops along the Wayside Loop Trail back to the President’s home.
