Re: Training for the Mohawk Hudson River MarathonNone of the Mohawk bike path is on roads. It crosses one every now and then but it is an old railroad line and therefore entirely separate from the adjancent roadway. (read Ramblin Gramp's history of the bike path in the articles section)

Re: Training for the Mohawk Hudson River MarathonThere actually is a small part of the Mohawk bike trail that is on Town Roads - I think a small portion on Island View Road, to get you under the Northway.

Re: Training for the Mohawk Hudson River MarathonThere is a new Spring 2006 edition of the Capital District Regional Bike-Hike Trail map, published by the Capital District Transportation Committee. I just received mine in the mail a few days ago. It's huge and has all sorts of great information on it. It includes details of the bike path from Rotterdam Junction all the way to the Corning Preserve. It also includes a map of the Crossings, trails in Bethlehem, East Greenbush, Rensselaer Lake, Stillwater and several others.

Re: Training for the Mohawk Hudson River Marathon"THESE GO TO 11", said Nigel Tufnel,. My first EVER 11 mile run. PR @ 9:23 per! The great part about the training schedule I am using is that the Sunday long run becomes an almost weekly PR, so I don't dread tham as much as I thought I would (shaking my head yes). Must admit that I slacked a bit and only got 3 of 5 runs in while on vacation, I kept spilling the beer on me so I just stopped running after the 3rd try.
